I am a huge fan of Dollar Tree! Are you? You can find amazing deals and actually some really nice decorations from time to time, especially seasonal décor. Did you know that there is a Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club? It is a free club that has tons of exclusive ideas for crafts, recipes, décor, frugal fun ideas, and more. There are new ideas added each month and you can browse and even print the project sheets so you can take them to the store as a shopping list.
I was asked to complete a project from the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club and share it with you as part of a campaign with Blueprint Social and Dollar Tree. I am excited to share this frugal, fun project with you which is perfect for Christmas and also great to transition into winter too.
Snowflakes made from craft sticks (or popsicle sticks)! You can find more information and complete instructions for this craft on the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club site.
Dollar Tree has packs of 100 craft sticks for… you got it – $1.00. I picked up 2 packs and ended up only using about 1/4 of the 2nd package for my 3 snowflakes which are pretty large.
I used wood glue to adhere the sticks together, but regular white glue, hot glue, super glue, pretty much any glue would work. I just didn’t want to use hot glue so that they would be stable in the sun and in storage in my attic during the summer.
I looked up some snowflake designs online to give me some ideas and decided on 3 basic templates/designs.
You can paint them, glitter them, stain them, or use them as is. I just grabbed some spray paint I had on hand to give them a quick coat of red, silver, and white paint.
Then I displayed them on my porch wall (using some simple command hooks) around a chalkboard with a message begging the snow to come to the south this winter. Think it will work?
I really LOVE these snowflakes and foresee some more snowflake making in my future maybe for my winter mantel/décor. And they were so easy and CHEAP!
Make sure to sign up for the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club for more great ideas like this one. I found another idea I want to do for Christmas already.
And do I have a fun surprise for one lucky reader!! ONE of you will win a $100 Dollar Tree gift card! You could probably buy enough popsicle sticks to construct a house big enough for you to live in with $100 to spend at Dollar Tree. Wow, wish I could enter – $100 will go a long way at Dollar Tree.

I love this idea!
Where do you spray paint in the winter months? I don’t have a garage and it’s freezing where I live!

Those snowflakes are GREAT! I love stuff like that that I can leave up a little past Christmas–winter always seems so blah after the Christmas decorations come down. Thanks for the chance to win!
