About Me

Hi, my name is Christina.

Christina @TheFrugalHomemaker.com

I am so glad you stopped by to visit The Frugal Homemaker!

I grew up in a very frugal home and am a homemaker at heart.  I love thrifting, shopping at yard sales, crafting, spray painting and working on Do-it-Yourself projects to decorate our home.  You could say I have “Pottery Barn style on a yard sale budget.”

Hence why “The Frugal Homemaker” was born! 🙂

I enjoy blogging and have greatly treasured the friendships I have found through the blogging community.  I am an internet addict and love to browse Pinterest, read other blogs, and find more ideas for creative ways I can decorate my home and make our lives better on a budget.

My frugal lifestyle doesn’t just stop inside my home though.  You can also find me blogging over at Centsible Savings.  I am a big couponer and save tons of money each week by stockpiling what is on sale, using coupons, and basing my menu on what I have on hand and what is on sale.  If you are interested in saving 40-60% off your grocery bill, decreasing your Christmas and birthday budget, preparing frugal meals, and much more, come check out my tips at Centsible Savings!

Some other things about me:

I have been married to my best friend for 9 years.  I am so thankful for my husband and the wonderful marriage the Lord has blessed us with!

best friend

We love taking trips (especially to the beach!) and spending time together.  We also enjoy serving our Lord together in our local church.  We are privileged to lead the college age group and we love being a part of “our college kids” lives.  I also am the shower coordinator, help plan and decorate for ladies activities, and many other things.  My husband serves as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Our family also consists of our adorable white cat named Casper. 🙂

When I am not online or spray painting something in the driveway, you can probably find me shopping yard sales or thrift stores, reading, cooking, decorating a cake, or playing with my nieces and nephew.

I hope you will stick around as I share my attempts to craft, thrift, DIY, paint, organize, decorate, and turn our house into a home on a budget.  Hopefully you will be inspired to do the same!

welcome to our home

Hey there! I am also a frugal person. I like your ideas and DIY thoughts. Have you ever heard of Shaklee? This company has saved me tons of money on the products I use everyday. Not to mention that the products are a million times better and safer than any product out there! If oyu would like I would be willing to offer some samples as a giveaway to your readers. Email me for more information or if you are interested.
    Thanks,
    Stacey 🙂

Very nice update. The new pictures are beautiful. As always, I look forward to each of you post and enjoy them. I am looking forward to seeing your new master bedroom and I vote for the two tone look or sanding and staining. Either way, it will be exciting!!

What a neat place your blog is! I found it when I did a search for coffee filter wreaths and I was SO impressed with your idea of how to do it!! (my husband is impressed too!!) Incredibly cheap – and that fits my budget perfectly. =) I love your emphasis on having a beautiful home on a yard sale budget. Thank you for being a blessing to me…may God richly bless you!! Happy Thanksgiving!

    Hi Christina,

I just happened onto your blog via pinterest and I LOVE it! You have some really great crafty ideas that I am going to try – and I love how inexpensively you are able to do them! I will def. be coming back to see what else you’ve done!
Just a note: I saw someone above mention Ambassador College — did you go there?? I visited there on a high school trip (we visited several colleges, but that one stuck out to me b/c they had a carpeted gym floor….weird detail, I know!!) but ended up at Pensacola Christian College. Small world! 🙂
