Decorating my porch for Christmas is always fun each year!
I usually do a specific theme but this year was really focusing on using items I had used in past years or at different times and I just sort of created a classic cozy Christmas look.
I always wanted a centered front door with room to decorate each side and a large porch and I definitely got it at this house.
I reused this large DIY JOY sign I made several years ago – tutorial here.
And I also made that Home for the Holidays sign too – tutorial here.
I can’t wait to host both sides of our family for a big Christmas day lunch and Christmas gathering in just a few weeks and so thankful I get to do it at our home! I love getting to see the Christmas displays out at the stores or in town but there truly is nothing like HOME for the holidays.
The other side of the door I used a big vintage sled and some ice skates I have found over the years at various yard sales. And wrapped up a bunch of online shopping boxes to look like faux presents to add some more color and decor out here.
Wreath I got last year at Kirkland’s and I just added some bells I found at Walmart to it.
I did a dried orange slices for the first time this year and added a garland of them out here along with another garland on my mantel, some as ornaments, and others tucked here and there.
I love my porch swing and with the milder winter weather we usually have, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy while having some coffee in the morning or some hot chocolate in the afternoon or evening!
This year I added this super cheap 6 foot flocked tree that I have had for a few years out here on this side and I just love it! I’ve always wanted to have a bigger tree on our porch and I may have to use an even bigger one next year
Adding some simple ribbon and evergreens cut from my yard to some basic black lanterns always dresses them up.
I use these buffalo plaid pillows (covers bought here) out here usually all year round but for Christmas I pulled out my pile of thrifted flannel throws and blanket scarfs I use as throws to cozy it up! Each rocking chair has a different plaid pattern but yet it all ties in together.
Wrapped presents whether using as decor or giving as gifts don’t have to be complicated and elaborate. Just a simple bow with some fresh greenery tucked under it makes it so festive!
Here’s some evening shots as the lights start to glow a bit more…
I keep battery operated candles in here that turn on every night on a timer but they don’t show up really well for pictures so I always light real candles. But the battery ones are so pretty at night!
Hope you enjoyed this Christmas porch tour!
