Your guide to turning your house into a home... one DIY project and yard sale find at a time

Christmas Project gallery

December 4, 2013

Before I jump headfirst into sharing with you all of my Christmas décor this year, I thought you might want to see what I did last year.  I am seeing these projects get pinned all over Pinterest Smile  And since I lack the ability and time to put together some extremely organized and functional DIY project gallery on my blog, these projects get sort of lost in the abyss of 2 years of blog posts.

So here is some Christmas inspiration for you and every Christmas themed post published on my blog as of yet.

Here is the whole living room display…

neutral Christmas decor

I boycotted red last year and decided to go with a NO-red Christmas and did lots of neutrals – whites, creams, tans, brown, gold, silver, metallics, and burlap.  I loved it but can I admit that I missed the red a little??  So this year I am going all out RED!

I made the burlap and lace tree skirt you see under the tree.

And I made some burlap + lace stockings.

I blogged all about my tree in this post.

And showed you how I made some mercury glass ornaments.  LOVE these and I want to try a different method this year.

My Christmas mantel kept with the neutral theme too.

And the feature piece was this DIY vintage music page wreath I made last year.

Now the front porch didn’t get the no-red memo and that is ok.  I loved my Christmas front porch last year and can’t wait to step it up a notch this year with a project I have in the works.

Want to make a lasting evergreen wreath?  Try embellishing a faux evergreen wreath like I did.

I love using pinecones to decorate – especially painted pinecones.  What version is your favorite?  I went into details in this post.

Can’t wait to share all of this years décor with you this year!

I agree with Molly! Super lovely!! I really like traditional red & green at my house during Christmas time, but your natural palette is beautiful – and you may have convinced me to try it out!! 😀

Christina, this is so pretty! I love your wreath; it’s a stunning centerpiece for your mantel! You did such a fantastic job on the stockings and tree skirt! I also love the red influenced in your front porch! It’s so festive! I can’t wait to see this year’s decorations too!

I remember some of these from last year, but I missed the page wreath. Thanks for showing them again. Your decor was beautiful.

Absolutely LOVE your house and all of your Christmas tree pictures! Do you mind telling me where you got your stripped curtains that are behind your Christmas tree? I am wanting to put curtains just like those in my living room.
