Friday Frugal Finds: 1/2 price day at Value Village

February 1, 2013

First, let me say thank you to all of my wonderful readers!! You gave me some great feedback on my house tour kitchen post.    I loved many of your suggestions and can’t wait to get to work on them!

If you follow me on facebook, you saw that I went to 1/2 price day at Value Village on Wednesday.  My local Value Village is an independently owned store but there are other Value Village stores and also Savers stores that are much like my store.  I did a tour of my Value Village store in this post.

On 1/2 price day  – ALL clothing, household linens, pillows, etc. are 1/2 off.  Household items like glassware, games, picture frames, furniture are not 1/2 off.

My nephew has been coming with us to church recently so I picked up a few more dress clothes for him.

thrift store finds

  • Jeans – $1.25
  • Shirt + vest set – $1.75
  • Polo vest – $0.95
  • pants – $1.75
  • and a tie for $0.25 Smile

And I found some fun things for me too!

thrift store finds

  • Navy blue knit dress – $3.49
  • t-shirt – $0.75
  • and my favorite find – black and white chevron dress shoes for $2.99!  Can’t wait for warmer weather to wear these! Smile

Did you find any fun finds this week?

Wow, I am amazed at how cheap things are. Love those shoes! Even at $6 (full price), that’s unheard of for Liz Claiborne!

I know you hate the counters but they go with the floor and the walls. If you were to replace them what color do you see? Once you can imagine what they should look like go and price the various counter materials. I know that butcher block from Ikea is reasonable, providing you can cut and install on your own. There seems to be tens of options some pricey and some not so much. You have to decide what you can live with.

Wow..you found some great stuff. Half off is pretty awesome! We don’t have a Value Village near us. Only Goodwill and Salvation Army. Will need to plan to make a trip soon. Thanks for sharing.
