Your guide to turning your house into a home... one DIY project and yard sale find at a time

Friday Faves + Frugal Finds: Neighborhood yard sale finds!

August 28, 2015

Hey everyone!  happy Friday to you!  I hope you have some fun plans for this weekend.  And if you end up doing some thrifing or yard sale shopping pop over to my facebook page and share your finds – I LOVE to see what you find too.

Two weeks ago, a friend told me her neighborhood was having a neighborhood wide yard sale the next day.  Even though I was decorating/serving food/helping at a wedding later that day, I got up early and headed out with $20 in my pocket and about an hour to shop.  This was really the first time I have come across a true neighborhood wide yard sale and it was amazing!  I stopped at about 10-12 sales and there were probably another 5-10 that I passed by/just didn’t have time to shop at.  And the prices were great too!  I would love to find some more sales like that – wish communities would organize more of those.

So here’s some of what I found:

And old Ball jar for $1.00.

A Thirty One organizing utility tote for $2.00.  I LOVE these bags and I have found that you can seam-rip the embroidery out and it comes out great.

I also found a Thirty One bookbag for $3.00.  This is like a $60-70 bookbag and very good quality.  Great find!  Not sure if I will let my nieces use it for school, keep it for myself, or resell it for some profit.

And a really nice lamp  for $2.00 with the lampshade.  I think it is a Target lamp.

I also found a pile of baby clothes and shoes for $0.25 each (little baby boy Converse shoes for $0.50!) for a really good friend who is expecting in November.  She is a yard sale shopper too and knows I am looking for some great deals for her since she lives out of state and we can’t shop together.

So there’s my finds!  It is a dreary day here but hoping tomorrow will be better and maybe I can find some fun sales.  Have a great weekend!

thanks, Lanita! No such luck this weekend but that’s ok. Hoping to catch a few more good sales this fall before they stop for the winter. Have you found anything fun recently>

I love yard sales. I have followed a lot of channels on YouTube dedicated to yard sale finds. I’ve recently started one of my own. If you would like, check it out on my Channel for “Tastefully Frugal” onYouTube
