Welcome to our home!!
I have teamed up with some of my blogger friends and the folks at Home Decorators Collection to share tours of our homes and lots of Christmas decorating inspiration with you this week. And I have been anxiously awaiting the day to share with you what I have done in my home this year for Christmas! And don’t leave before you enter the giveaway at the very end of the post (TWO lucky people will win a $250 gift card to Home Decorators Collection!)
I have several posts and projects I need to catch up on sharing after the holiday season is over, one of them being the addition of this antique cabinet to our entryway. It is actually an heirloom piece passed down to me, originally owned by my husband’s grandmother, and I am so glad to have a piece of family history in my home! It is chippy and old and cream and white and I seriously love it. I have moved all my vintage milk glass, Pyrex dishes, and old blue mason jars in it and love finally having a place to display my collection. I’ll give you a full tour of it in January.
But for Christmas I was missing my white dresser that I used as an entryway table as another flat space to decorate. But I made this work just fine with some fresh greenery, a few simple pieces of décor, and a DIY piece of art that I made last year.
Now let’s head into the living room…
My mantel this year is adorned with a DIY lighted canvas and lots of pops of red.
But I went in a completely different direction with my tree this year. I bought a flocked tree on clearance after Christmas last year and couldn’t wait to put it up this year. I am in officially in LOVE with flocked trees! I went with a red and white theme with lots of natural and rustic touches.
And of course with a new tree means some new décor and by just adding a few new pieces and pulling lots of things from my bins I have a totally new look.
I picked out set of Nordic glass ornaments from Home Decorator’s Collection and they went perfectly with my red and white theme this year.
I completely forgot about these little red cardinals that I found in my bins thst I must have bought on after Christmas clearance one year. They go perfect on my tree this year!
I also loved all the deer and nature elements I am seeing this year. I have been looking to add some to my home so I picked out this white and tan deer applique pillow from Home Decorators Collection. Perfect to use through fall into January or maybe even year round.
I never have really had a tree topper – I usually just do ribbon or picks or a bow. BUT when I saw this rustic reclaimed wood star I KNEW it was the perfect fit for my home and décor. Even my nieces and nephew were excited that I had a star to go on top of the tree! 🙂
The tree skirt was another favorite of mine from the Home Decorators Collection – sort of a mix of a burlap look or grain sack look with a pretty red stripe. Simple and classic that could work with so many themes.
Finding some flocked garland is on my after-Christmas clearance list this year. Or I might just attempt flocking this garland myself.
I like to keep my décor fairly neutral but at Christmas I can’t resist adding pops of red.
I love the open floor plan of our home so let’s step into the kitchen.
So much happens at this table – daily meals, craft projects, and so much more. But right now it is set for some guests we will have soon.
I will have a full detailed tour of this room next week with sources and details on some DIY things I did in here for Christmas but here’s a quick peek.
My kitchen underwent a very inexpensive yet huge impact makeover this past year so I couldn’t resist adding some Christmas décor in my pretty new room!
I love my view into the living room from the sink.
This time of year it is actually fun to go the mailbox to find cards (and not bills!) from friends and family. I thought I would try a festive new way to display them this year. I will probably replace all of these with photo cards as we continue to get them in the mail – those are my favorite!
Oh coffee… it’s a necessity but who says a coffee station can’t be festive this time of year!
Well that’s it for now. I will have part 2 of my home tour along with a post completely devoted to my Christmas kitchen next week.
But don’t run off before you visit all the other gorgeous Holiday Home Tours and inspiration shared by all the other bloggers this past week. You can also find posts on social media with hashtag #HDCHolidayHomes. (I love to get on Instagram and browse through hashtags like that for inspiration!)

Hi Christina – Loved your Christmas home tour! You always do an amazing job decorating and this time is no different! I think my favorite thing is your Christmas tree – love the flocked tree and all of the red & white ornaments that go with your theme! If I were to win the gift card, I would select things from the Martha Stewart holiday collection – I really liked the woodland themed items and the burap stockings! I would love to do a woodland theme next year…. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to seeing more about your new antique cabinet and how you have your milk glass collection stored in it, as well as your other Christmas decor! Enjoy the weekend…..

Your home is so beautiful! There’s nothing I’d love more than all white walls but we rent so I can’t do that yet, but what a perfect canvas for Christmas decorating?! I mean seriously… What’s with the peachy yellowy wall colors all over the south, I’ll never understand, lol!
I just love the flow of your home’s decorations, it makes me all giddy to look at your photos and dream of having my stuff together someday like you do! I’m in love with order and beauty and you seem to get it every year. One of my favorite elements is how you used the ribbons and wreaths to make your cabinets so festive and elegant, I’m totally filing that idea away in my brain for the future. Also I’m loving all the after Christmas clearance you used… That just speaks to my heart! I love love love getting clearance items after the holiday, and that tree was a great score! Anyway, I just love your home… Your decorating gives me something to aspire to!!
If I were lucky enough to win the gift card I’d have to get some of their precious ornaments, and I loved the festive throw pillow with the sheet music and music notes. I’d also be forced to get at least one of their garlands, and absolutely a tree skirt since I’ve never had one of those before! But it wouldn’t be hard to shop there, they have lots of amazing Christmas decor and that’s my favorite thing to shop for!
