10 simple + frugal ideas to clean and organize your home

Excited to announce this series starting today and going for the next 5 weeks.

One of the goals I have for the first few months of this year is to clean and organize every room in my home, room by room.  Taking one room at a time and going through every closet, cabinet, drawer, basket, shelf – and purge, clean, reorganizing it all.  No drawer, corner, paper, closet, nook or cranny will be left undisturbed!  And when warmer weather gets here I will be ready to have a big spring yard sale.

I know that I am not the only one that can’t wait to get the Christmas stuff down so the cleaning, purging, organizing can begin!  It is all over Pinterest, blogland, even facebook – everyone is looking for ideas and working on organizing/simplifying/cleaning their homes.  And I am right there with you!  I would much rather clean out closets and drawers and organize indoors while it is freezing outside so when warmer temps get here I can get busy in the yard or just enjoy spring.

So here’s how the series will work…

Every Monday and Wednesday for the next 5 weeks, I will be posting a SIMPLE + frugal idea to help you organize a particular area in your home.  These are going to be simple ideas and very frugal (no trips to an expensive container store + no mind-blowing ideas either).  I even asked a few blogging friends to share some of their tips too.  Huge disclaimer: I am NOT a great organizer or house-cleaner.  Don’t get me wrong… I would LOVE to have a perfectly organized or clean house, but I am learning and trying (and failing more times than not) just like you.   But I hope that some simple things that I do use in my home might be a help to you.

Then on Fridays, I will be sharing some of my favorite posts from bloggers and Pinterest on cleaning and organizing so I can learn right along with you during this series!

I may share some of the room before/after cleaning pictures or piles of stuff I clean out on Facebook or Instagram so make sure you are following me.

Now let’s get to work cleaning and organizing!

Here’s all the posts from the series so far…

Bring it! I am already thinking spring and getting outside, so I really want to get things in order inside first.

I love these posts. I have a fairly small home with 5 people and 1 dog, so these really help. The one thing that’s changed my household dramatically, is the new laundry routine. I wash it, dry it & put it away immediately. THANK YOU!
