Your guide to turning your house into a home... one DIY project and yard sale find at a time

Seasonal mantels of 2013

January 3, 2014

I recapped some of the top posts of 2013 in this post if you missed it.  BUT I thought it would be fun to do a mantel recap post too!

2013 year in review of Seasonal Mantels

You know that I love to decorate my mantel for seasons.  I did it before I was blogging, and would do it even if I wasn’t blogging.  I think I would get bored with a set arrangement up there and it is so much fun personalizing it with lots of yard sale finds for each seasons.  I use a lot of the same things again and again in different ways and then pull from around the house too so I don’t have a huge stash of extra décor.

So here’s a fun recap in pictures my 2013 seasonal mantels…  Click on the picture or link to go to the post for more details or to pin them on Pinterest.

And in between my patriotic mantel and fall mantel, I did a mantel series where I showed 5 different ways and styles on how you can decorate an all-season mantel.    So if you aren’t one to change out your mantel seasonally… pick a style or décor you like and decorate your mantel like that!

1 mantel decorated 5 ways in 5 days

Cottage or Coastal mantel (could also be a beach/summer themed mantel)

Traditional mantel with a touch of glam

Vintage or Eclectic mantel (could also be a spring/summer mantel)

So which one is your favorite?

Are you an all-season mantel decorator or do you like to change some things up in your home due to the season?

I don’t normally comment on many blogs, I need to do that more! But I just had to say kudos to you for being so creative! That is awesome. I have the same one going all year round, but only bring out extra fun stuff for Xmas season. I might have to rethink that. Our fireplace is not a “working” one…I love how you did the candleabra…can you tell me where you got that? I might need to look for one myself. Love the idea of putting a nice big candel set in there!

I love both the winter and the fall mantles the best! Living in Ga like you do, when do you put up the spring mantle? We’re having a bit of a cold snap here lately, and I just finished up my winter mantle, but I am ready for spring! Lol.

    Hi Christina,
Thanks for the mantle recap – I loved looking at all of them again!! My favorites are the Winter, Fall, Christmas and the Cottage/Coastal. I really needed this. I’m just tired of my mantle/fireplace. I don’t like the proportions. I know I can help that with decor, but … the struggle is real! Thanks so much for the inspiration!!
