So you saw on my July goals list that working on a guest room makeover is an ongoing project. I plan on incorporating some personal touches with toys, games, and pictures of my nieces since they call my guest room “their room” when they are here, along with keeping it a nice space when we have the opportunity to have overnight guests. So when I was contacted about reviewing Uprinting canvas prints, I jumped on the opportunity! I did a quick photo shoot of my nieces in the backyard one day and LOVED the way the pictures turned out. I did a little bit of editing and added some text in Picmonkey and I was ready to order.
I found UPrinting very easy and fast to use. I selected “canvas prints”, then “rolled canvas”. See those prices?? The rolled canvas prints start at $13 and are ready to ship in 1 day, while the stretched canvas prints start at $62 and are ready to ship in 3 days (plus I think you would pay more for shipping too).
It walks you through all kinds of options from the size that you want (I did a 16×20 print), if you want a 2 inch border on the print (I selected no border), and how fast you want it to ship. Then you upload your image.
You can request them to send you a proof in the mail (which is really nice if you were ordering a larger, more expensive print and wanted to make sure it looked right), receive a digital print by email, or just review it right there. Enter your payment information, click submit, and your print is on its way. Seriously once your picture is ready you could order it in less than 2 minutes.
I patiently waited for the day my canvas print would arrive and it finally did yesterday! It comes in this triangle box.
And is all rolled up and perfectly protected inside.
I almost cried when I unrolled it… it was gorgeous! I already loved this picture of my nieces, and the canvas captured all of the color, depth, and beauty of them and the outdoors in this picture EVEN BETTER! It is a nice thick rolled canvas – I was super impressed with the quality. The picture is perfectly crisp and just like what it looks like on my computer, but yet has the texture of a canvas.
So then I had to decide how I was going to display it. I rummaged through my frame stash and found a frame that would fit. (Don’t act like you don’t have a frame stash – I know you do! Please don’t tell me I am the only one that has a craft/spare room that could be on Hoarders. )
See perfect fit! The frame just needed a little spray paint love and it would be perfect.
I did 2 coats of Krylon white primer and 2 coats of Krylon gloss white spray paint and it was ready. I left the glass out of the frame so that the texture of the canvas could be seen. To secure the canvas I taped it to the back cardboard part of the frame and put the frame all back together.
Here it is all hung in my guest room (my nieces call it THEIR room when they are here). As I said I want to incorporate some of them into my guest room so this is the “books and toys corner” and now will have this beautiful picture of them in it too.
I love this picture and the canvas! I found myself popping my head into the room as I passed by it yesterday and today just to see it and smile once again.
I should have taken a picture of my nieces faces this morning when I told them to close their eyes as I walked them into the room to reveal it to them. They loved it too!
I will definitely be using UPrinting again for some other projects as I was super impressed with 1) how easy it was to order, and 2) how beautiful the finished project turned out.

How do you add personal touches to your home?

I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Uprinting.com and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own. And I honestly love this canvas print!
Looks beautiful! They are adorable and I’m sure they loved it!!!
Wow, that is so creative. I would love to make one for my home too.
Thanks for sharing this idea to us reader!
Cheers!
Christina, your photo is gorgeous! And it looks like you’re right – the canvas really captured the color very nicely!
That is beautiful! It’s so hard to find place that will print your photos and NOT change the colors. So far shutterfly is the only place that I’ve had any success with.
