So in keeping with our spring posts, next up is a spring wreath 🙂 But not just any spring wreath, a green spring wreath, sort of like a boxwood wreath… and the best part is ALL of the materials came from recent thrifting finds .
So I knew I wanted to do something with these greenery bushes I had found at Value Village before Christmas. So of course I pop on Pinterest to see what ideas I have on my “wreath” board (176 wreath ideas and counting!) and my “spring décor” board.
As I was looking, I came across this picture that I had pinned and I loved the square wreath! I found many other pictures as well of square wreaths so I thought I would do something different this time. 🙂
Here is what I used:
- black picture frame – $1.00 flea market find (see I mentioned you would be seeing these items again my spring décor 😉
- 2 bunches of greenery – Value Village find $1.01 each (had original tags from Hobby Lobby of $7.99 + $9.99)
I cut all the stems off the greenery bushes and started hot-gluing them all around the frame. (I probably could have used floral wire and it would have made the stems easier to bend to reposition, but I already had the glue gun out and it was faster and easier.) (See this update post! I had to go back and secure it with floral wire because the heat/sun on my front door was softening the hot glue and causing the greenery stems to fall off.)
I experimented with putting a bow on the top or hanging from the bottom but didn’t like that.
And then I thought maybe I could do a “spring flag banner” like I did on my clothespin/laundry room wreath. But honestly, I just liked the simplicity and natural look of it how it was so I left it alone. 🙂 I can always add something later if I want.
Ahhhhh…. spring! LOVE this time of year!
Now for the exciting announcement…
You are cordially invited to a “Bloggy Progressive Dinner!”
I am sure you have heard of or been to a progressive dinner- you drive from house to house eating one part of a meal at each house. Well, this is better – no starving in between houses or driving all around town. Just head to each one of our blogs on the days specified and we will be sharing a recipe with you that will form a yummy meal!
Here’s the schedule:
Beverage – Kristi from Living Unbound
Appetizer – Renee from Living, Laughing, & Loving
Main Dish – Christa from Brown Sugar Toast
Side & Bread – Laine from it’s just Laine
Dessert – ME, right here on March 30th 🙂
I have already heard what some of these girls are planning and oh my, it’s going to be good. And you’ll want to head over and check out their blogs even today. They all do a great job and are on my “daily-read these blogs first list.”
And can I just say one more thing… I am so thankful for these girls! These girls are my blogging friends and we write back and forth online sometimes multiple times a day. They GET me – you know, understand why my driveway is covered in trinkets in process of spray painting, understand my rant about wordpress woes, cheer me when I have a post go viral, encourage me when I feel like no one is reading my blog, inspire me to be a better blogger, and so much more. So thankful to have them in my life and to co-host this dinner with them for YOU!
How about you? Completed any spring projects lately? Or attended any progressive dinners? 🙂
