Friday fun + Frugal finds: frames, scarfs and more

February 24, 2012

Friday Fun Frugal Finds

I am slowly figuring out that I am finding LESS and LESS at Goodwill Sad smile  Their prices are way too high and their selection is not great either.  Which makes me sad. Sad smile  I have two Goodwill’s in my area and I am finding that the one in the smaller town tends to have a little better prices and more deals.

I stopped in last week and actually found some frames that were included in the 50% color that week!  (RARE!)

  • Large frame $3.63 but 50% off– paid $1.81
  • 2 small frames $1.71 each but 50% off – paid $0.85 each

Then of course, I stopped in Value Village! Winking smile

And hit the scarf jackpot Smile

  • The black, purple, and red/white striped scarfs were $1.99 each.  The navy one is more of silk type scarf and it was only $0.69!
  • Frame – $0.80
  • 4 pink napkins – $0.49 each (on my spring table right now!)
  • little stool – $2.42 (not sure what I am going to do with this, but definitely will spray paint it!  I have seen little stools like this before in décor arrangements that I liked so hopefully I can find a place for it.)

SOOOO ready for yard sale season to start in full swing! Smile

How about you?  Find anything good this week at a thrift store?  Are you ready for yard sale season to start?

funny—seems to be the opposite for me. While I have found several fun finds, like my chair, at Value Village I typically don’t find much there, but have jackpotted much lately at Goodwill. Actually found rod iron bar stools that are originally $80 and only paid $12 for them the other day! I was so skipping out of that store. I had kind of given up hope on finding any until yard sale season started, but I was overjoyed. Glad you are finding great deals at Value Village! I too cannot wait until yard sales begin

I don’t get why your Goodwills are so much cheaper and better than mine. And I am shopping 30 minutes out from Atlanta too?? One day, I will shop your awesome stores! 🙂

I am sorry you don’t have good goodwills (too many “goods” in those two words! ha ha) close to you! Maybe if you come down here sometime, I could go with you and Molly and we could hit the Charlotte Goodwills. Glad you have a good Value Village! I like the stool you found!

I might just have to plan a trip – that would be fun! don’t know why our Goodwills are so picked over and higher priced than yours. We live even father out from Atlanta so it doesn’t make sense. Oh well, thankful for my Value Village and my yard sale 🙂

Value Village is basically like Goodwill. They are sponsored by the American Kidney Foundation.

Planning on a VV post with pictures soon 🙂
