I am so excited to share the final before/after pictures of our master bathroom makeover! This was a very little budget makeover but the inexpensive changes that we did made a HUGE difference! Just goes to show you what a bit of paint, a little bit of DIY, and some updated décor can do for a room.
So here’s what our bathroom looked like before – beige and oh so boring…
Outdated décor that was too little for the space too.
I had been wanting to make a change in here for a while but painting my master bedroom finally gave me the incentive I needed to just get it done!
I was so glad to see that Hollywood light fixture go!
I don’t think I even showed you pictures of the little toilet room before.
What a difference a can of paint makes! I started by painting the entire bathroom in Magnet by Behr Marquee in an eggshell finish. The beige before had been in flat and just upping the sheen made a huge difference. I also painted subtle stripes in the same color but in a semi-gloss sheen – tutorial for stripes here. We changed out the light fixture with a free fixture my brother passed on to me – such an improvement over the hollywood strip light! And the mirror was transformed with a $20 DIY frame!
New décor was added but I spent very little – $20 on this big metal medallion on a Black Friday sale at Kohl’s, a new shower curtain from Kohl’s and a Goodwill curtain panel turned DIY faux roman shade. Surprise… Yes, I changed up the curtain after feedback from this post about my curtains. I love it now!
I installed some floating shelves from IKEA – details here. All of the décor is yard sale/thrift store finds and I got new white towels on a Black Friday sale too.
I added some fun decorative wall mirrors (clearance find from Target) in the little toilet room.
Let’s peek in there and see the difference the paint color made! HUGE and some new yard sale finds help too!
I repainted the cabinets with some white enamel Behr paint and changed out the handles with some satin nickel pulls.
That was another small change that made a huge difference as you can see.
Here’s the best picture of the whole vanity with out seeing me holding the camera in the mirror. (Yes I might be hiding in the bathtub to take this picture.)
Here’s some side by side comparison shots to save you from scrolling up to the top again…
Before.
After!
Before of tub area…
This area looks so much larger than before!
Before of vanity area…
Oh how I love this view – the contrast between the gray and white is so pretty! I was a little unsure about going this dark in this bathroom. But I honestly absolutely love it!
And one last one…
I think I achieved the spa-like feeling I was wanting with some high-impact, low budget changes… My husband and I both just love this room now!

It is beautiful….you did not disappoint!! What a beautiful transformation and very “spa-like”!! I’m usually one to shy away from dark paint colors, but I love how this turned out! I can’t wait to see the final reveal for your master bedroom!
