Excited to share my fall mantel with you today! I decorated my mantel a bit different this year doing a layered look this year.
I am usually a very symmetrical person and have kept my fall displays very neutral with lots of white and creams but this year I added some deep fall colors and lots of wood tones which I just loved this year.
Just for fun let’s look back at past fall mantels in this house. I loved this very simple fall display 2 years ago and it even got featured in this year’s Country Sampler fall decorating magazine.
Then last year my mantel got a makeover using a german schmear technique and this was my picket fence inspired fall mantel.
I love all of them but I’m definitely loving all the wood touches that I am trying to add throughout my home.
I just scooted my big shiplap backdrop piece over a bit, added a wood cathedral window I picked up a local discount shop and the wreath hanging on the front of that came from a yard sale for 50 cents. I grabbed those wood candlesticks back on the 75% off Hobby Lobby sale this summer specifically planning on using them for my fall mantel. The chalkboard is a yard sale find from years ago and the Give Thanks sign came from the summer 75% Hobby Lobby sale too.
I recently found those vintage amber Clorox bottles at a yard sale for $1.00 and added some clearance wheat type fall stems in from last year’s Hobby Lobby fall clearance. Those wood bead garlands came from Hobby Lobby fall decor this year – I am hoping I can use them in my Christmas decor too!
I love the height a little bench adds to the hearth – this one came from an estate sale a few years ago and I chalk painted it white. The harvest pillow was 80% off clearance from Hobby Lobby last year and the black and white pillow cover came from here – I love it and plan to order the red and white striped version for Christmas.
I’ve rearranged my living room since last year which I’ll show you a bit more of in my fall tour later this week and I love how cozy it feels!
I hope you enjoyed seeing this years fall mantel and it inspired you to try a different look to your decor or adding more color than you normally do – there is no wrong or right way to decorate and it’s fun to explore different looks!

My favorite part is the cathedral window with the wreath!
