31 days to Love the Home You Have

This post is part of a 31 day series – 31 days to Love the Home You Have.  I am blogging through the 31 day challenge in the back of the book “Love the Home You Have” by Melissa Michaels of The Inspired Room.  You can read all the posts in the series so far here.  And to make sure you don’t miss a post you can sign up to have every post delivered to your inbox , or follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram to get even more home decorating ideas and inspiration to help you fall in love with your home.

Today’s challenge is to clean out your purse and my desperately needed it!  I usually try to clean out my purse once a week but I think it had gone several weeks this time.

So I pretty much dumped it all in the floor to sort though… tons of receipts and coupons and trash.

After filing/trashing all the receipts, reorganizing the coupons back into my coupon binder, and removing things that didn’t belong in my purse, I was left with this.  So much better!

One of the tricks I started doing about a year to help keep my purse better organized and find things easier was to add a small zippered pouch to put all the small things in .  You may want to have 2 of these depending on how much makeup or meds you carry.  I just carry lipstick, some pain meds, hairspray, chapstick, fingernail clippers/file, and a small bottle of lotion.  If I was to carry any more makeup, I would put it in another zippered pouch.  This has helped tremendously in keeping all of this organized and so much easier to find when I need it.  All those little things like chapstick or lipstick can easily get buried in the bottom of a messy purse.

So how is your purse?  Could it need a clean out or maybe some better methods of organization?

Challenge: Clean out your purse – removing everything that doesn’t belong in there.  And then revaluate what you put back in if it truly need to carry it.  Add a zippered pouch or 2 to organize makeup or beauty products and see if it helps.

Yeah, I used to have makeup loosely floating around my purse and it always caused me frustration when trying to find my stuff and it always made my bag dirty and messy. Whenever I have an organized purse I feel so much more prepared for things.
