There’s a pumpkin on my porch {Front porch decorated for Fall}

Front porch decorated for FALL

So we are continuing the fall décor theme this week with some outside fall décor today.  I had fun decorating my front porch to show you!

Can I confess something?  I am not a very good outside decorator… at least I don’t think so.  For one, outside décor seems to cost a good bit and I just don’t have the money to spend on it that it requires.  I would love to have bales of hay, cornstalks, pots of mums everywhere, and more but I just can’t justify having to buy that every year.  So I will browse Pinterest and adore those pictures instead.  Another thing that makes outside decorating hard is our house/front porch isn’t the easiest to decorate either – no steps, no centered front door, etc.

But I did the best I could without spending any additional money and here is my fall front porch!  It’s more than I have done before so maybe I am improving!

My fall wreath is still under construction so for now this yard sale pinecone flower wreath hangs on it.    I love the wreath but I think my front door needs a different color/more color.  So the wreath will move inside when my new wreath is complete.

I did a small front porch makeover this spring and finally added some seating in the form of this bench on our porch.  We have enjoyed and used this bench A LOT this summer!  So glad to have seating out there!  And it has been fun to decorate too!

I whipped up two more envelope pillow covers from some fabric scraps I had picked up at my clearance warehouse.  Perfect colors for fall.

Some of the summer flowers I had in these two pots died so I replaced them with some 88¢ small pots of mums from Wal-mart.  Hoping they will stay blooming at least until November?

And yes, in the south we decorate for fall with ferns! Smile  Mine are still going strong – may try to winter them inside when it starts to get cold.

If you follow me on facebook, you might have seen the large wagon wheel planter in the sneak peek picture of my yard sale finds from Saturday.  It is a huge, heavy, cast iron piece that I picked up for $10 at a yard sale.  I knew that if it didn’t work for me, I have a friend who would LOVE it.  So we shall see if I find a space in my flower bed, or on my porch, or if I pass it on to my friend.  But for now, I am going to enjoy it my front porch for fall!

I borrowed the pumpkin and the 2 baskets of mums from my fall mantel, so I need to pick up another pumpkin (since my husband and I are both going to carve/decorate one later) and some more mums (with a coupon at Lowe’s) so my mantel and porch can each have their own.

Oh, and the lantern was a yard sale find from Saturday too – paid 50¢ for it – craziness!

The scarecrow is from my stash – bought on clearance one year, so is the basket of faux flowers on the wagon wheel.  And I just threw some of the leftover fabric on the bench for some extra décor.

So there is my fall front porch!  Looking forward to adding a new fall wreath on my front door and it will be complete.

Do you decorate outside for fall?  How do you do it on a budget?
