The Frugal Homemaker

Your guide to turning your house into a home... one DIY project and yard sale find at a time

Welcome to The Frugal Homemaker!

September 28, 2011

Welcome to the Grand Opening of The Frugal Homemaker!

This site has been a dream of mine for several months and I am excited to finally launch.  I will still be making tweaks and changes here and there (as I learn more about wordpress and site design – anyone got any tips for me??), but I can’t wait anymore to start sharing with you!

First, let me introduce myself!

My name is Christina and some of you may know me as the author of Centsible Savings (my other blog where I share all about coupons, saving money, frugal meals, and more.)

You can read a little more about me and who I share my home with here.

About a year ago, I started a feature called “Dècor on a Dime” over at Centsible Savings.  I LOVED doing the projects and writing the posts and my readers loved reading them!  I delved even more into the “frugal dècor blog world” and quickly had the desire to have a blog that I could devote just to my frugal dècor projects.  Many months later, after site crashes, pouring over wordpress tutorials, and long nights spent googling “how to xxxxxxx in wordpress”,  The Frugal Homemaker was finally born.

I plan to post a few times a week.  Some posts will be sharing things I get while thrifting or yardsaling, then how I transform spraypaint them and incorporate them in our home.  Other posts will be sharing how I decorate for the seasons, repurpose items, tips on organizing, or how things don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.  And of course there will be lots of crafts and DIY projects, along with pleny of tutorials so you can do them too!

Here are some ways you can make sure you don’t miss anything going on here at The Frugal Homemaker…

  • subscribe by email,
  • join me on facebook,
  • follow me on twitter
  • add The Frugal Homemaker to your reader

So…

P.S. I will be back tomorrow with my first decor post…

I will be sharing my fall mantel.  I think it is my favorite mantel of all times and I bought nothing new to create it and made my favorite part of it for FREE! 🙂  I think you might fall in love as much as I did. 😉 {cj}
