Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I sure am – turkey, ham, all the sides, stuffing and pumpkin pie – yum!! Today, I thought I would share my take on a pretty table all set for Thanksgiving dinner hoping that it will inspire you or give you some ideas for your Thanksgiving table.
I LOVE setting a pretty table (even if sometimes it is only to share it with you ). There’s just something about all the layers or just the simple decor compiled all together that makes it so fancy.
I took lots of pictures so sit back and enjoy and I’ll talk you through my sources and how I put it all together.
I wanted to do a twist on the color scheme this year still sticking with my neutral fall colors and I have been loving the amber colored glass I’ve seen in fall decor this year. Amber pairs perfectly with blue so it was the perfect chance for me to use my Target Dollar Spot napkins and table runner I got on clearance last year. I just added a small candle in these Amber mason jars that I found on clearance at my local Kroger, a simple white pumpkin, and used these faux mercury glass candle holders from the Dollar Tree a while back.
In fact pretty much this whole table came from Target Dollar Spot or Kroger clearance… What can I say, I love my deals!! I was grocery shopping at Kroger last week and happened to walk past a rack that had 70% fall stuff on it – I don’t even remember seeing the cute fall stuff in the regular aisle but wow, they had some really cute stuff! The “Give Thanks” wood sign came from there for $1.50! I picked it up thinking I would use it in the middle of a wreath but I love it here on a table too.
Let’s talk about the place setting… The chargers are from Ikea from several years ago but I think they still carry them. They are my go-to, favorite chargers to use on my table! Then just some basic white dishes layered with navy and white napkins from Target Dollar Spot fall last year and some white appetizer plates from Target Dollar Spot fall this year. I loved these plates and a set of 2 for $3 is a good deal! The mini boxwood wreath was from Target Dollar Spot too – I think from summer?
I just love the combination of the white, green, and navy.
I have had these eucalyptus stems on my table since late August and I love them – they may be there again for spring or all year!
Table settings don’t have to be extra fancy or complicated. I didn’t even use a tablecloth because I loved the natural wood of the table with all the elements on the table.
I can picture using these same mini wreaths for a spring, summer, or even Christmas table! In fact, I have another place I plan to use them for Christmas that I will show you soon.
It’s all about finding basic pieces – like the rattan chargers, basic white everyday dishes, a white pitcher for a vase and then adding a in a few seasonal or decorative elements to complete the look.
Maybe you forgo the wreath and small plate and do a paper napkin but this same look and table decor could work well for a simple but beautiful Thanksgiving table.
I’d love to know what you do for Thanksgiving? Do you set a pretty table with placemats/chargers, plates, centerpiece or is it paper plates while sitting on the couch watching the game? Either way, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving filled with reminders of the many things we all have to give thanks for every day.

So very pretty, Christina! I love the Amber glass jars, didn’t realize canning jars came in amber! I have some similar round jute placemats I got from Kohl’s on sale topped with a coupon for just a few dollars each, they are so versatile! I’m on the search for a vintage white pitcher to use as a vase, hopefully ironstone. Thanksgiving at my in-laws is buffet style with paper plates and sitting wherever you can find a seat, lol! Happy Thanksgiving!
