So this will probably be the last Friday Frugal Finds of the season. I am about to jump into a 31 day series during the whole month of October (more on that on Monday – excited about this years theme!), and then November and December will be upon us and yard sale season is over for the most part. Although I do live in the south and typically see yard sales pretty much year round and my parking lot yard sale is year round too, I usually take a break at least from yard sales during that time. I may pop in on a random Friday with a fun thrift store find that I just have to share but will probably just share those on facebook so make sure you follow me on facebook.
This past week we had some very special friends come visit and stay with us and we had the TIME of our life!
So thankful for the time we had with Molly and her husband from Pennies ‘n Grace and a friend who is a missionary in South Africa but here in the states visiting. It was 4 days of non-stop laughter, fun, late nights, good food, thrifting, touring some Atlanta sites, and just enjoying being together.
This is all of us at the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta. We also went to a Braves game that night too.
On Monday morning we headed out to a car museum (for the guys of course!) but it ended up that it was closed only on Mondays. So the girls found a thrift store close by that we could visit instead!
We walked in and the store was packed – come to find out the whole store was 50% off that day!
Here’s what I found.
A necklace for $0.99
A grapevine piece for $0.49
A game for $0.99
A pillow for $0.99
And a pillow for $1.99
The next day the guys headed off again to do their thing and we hit some of my favorite local thrift stores. I found this pillow at my big, sort of junky thrift store and it was only $0.50! New with Kohl’s tags still on it and it matched my new living room pillows perfectly.
We also stopped in Goodwill and I found 2 more pillows and a pair or sandals.
By the way, I think the pillow count in my house was like 6 (4 in the living room, and 2 on our bed) when this spring started. Then I went to visit Molly (from Pennies ‘n Grace) back in April. You can see her house tour here. I LOVED all of her pillows and determined to start really keeping my eyes open at thrift stores and yard sales. I have found some great deals over the last few months – many for $1 and $2 or even 50¢! I didn’t count specifically but I know my pillow count is 20+ now. (My husband says, “thanks a lot, Molly! now where am I supposed to sit on the couch??”)
No link up today. But feel free to leave your links in the comments – I always enjoy coming over and checking them out. Thanks for following along this spring and summer on all my frugal shopping adventures!
See you back on Monday when I will introduce this year’s theme for my 31 days series and then jump into blogging for 31 days straight in October! Have a great weekend.
great finds as always!! Love all the pillows! I only have 4 between my couch and chair in the living room, and the kids are always making obstacle courses with them! I’d love to add more, but would probably keep tripping over them! I have 10 on my bed to make up for it!! : )
I know! I’m trying to get a jump start on my 31 Days series this weekend, too! It’s all planned – but since this is my third year of doing it, the more advance prep I do, the better it always is for me! 🙂
Great thrifty finds – thanks for sharing! So looking forward to your 31days series!! :O)
Enjoy the weekend,
Lanita
You love pillows like I do. Great finds. Do you normally recover or just a good washing?
