P52: Drink up + my favorite Peppermint Mocha recipe

February 9, 2012

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge my3boybarians.com

I am participating in a project over at My 3 Boybarians called Project52 (P52)  which stands for “1 photo each week for a year.”  There is an assigned theme each week and I try to take the best photo I can related to that theme.  Here is my attempt this week!

This week’s theme was: Drink up.

Here’s my shot of my favorite morning beverage – Peppermint Mocha.

So how rude would it be if I left you with that yummy picture and didn’t share how to make it.  Smile

Here are my ingredients…

  • My favorite Starbucks coffee
  • Coffee-mate Peppermint Mocha creamer
  • Hershey’s chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream (by the way, just splurge and buy the brand name stuff – this one is messy and not near as good.)

DSC_1255

Make some strong coffee, or better yet a shot of two of espresso.  I was going for a LARGE drink today so I made strong coffee.  Fill the cup about 2/3rds full.

Fill the rest of the cup with creamer.  I like a little coffee with my cream. Winking smile

Then top with whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup…and enjoy! Smile  (I also topped mine that day with some crushed up leftover candy cane and a cute little heart sprinkle for Valentine’s.)

Much cheaper than Starbucks and can easily be made at home.

So. . . DRINK UP!

Do you have a favorite coffee drink?

Would love some more ideas or recipes! Smile

So, can you come and decorate my table for me? That is something that I want to work on this year—collection to keep the table set and pretty. You have me inspired! Oh, and the coffee looks yummy too!

I need to be better about posting pictures of my table. 🙂 good blog material. But it wasn’t really that elaborate. 🙂

My nieces love it too 🙂 they always have to check it all out when I change it over and they come over the next time. 🙂

MMmmm…looks yummy! My favorite {flavored} coffee drink is the Skinny Cinnamon Dolce latte from Starbucks and just plain old joe from DD! =) But I also LOVE peppermint mochas so I’ll definitely need to try this recipe to save some $$!

Can you believe I have never had DD coffee? 🙂

I get Starbucks occasionally but usually just because I have a giftcard from swagbucks. I did try a Cinnamon drink from Starbucks a few weeks ago and it was good.

Holy cow…does that ever look good! The crushed peppermint and that little red heart right in the middle of all that whipped cream. I think I may have just found a special Valentine’s Day treat for my daughters (I’ll have to substitute hot chocolate for the coffee…otherwise they’ll have WAY more energy than they’ll need!).

That looks amazing and oh so decadent! You had me at coffee and then again with chocolate and then again with whipped cream. My morning coffee looks pretty whimpy now.

🙂 just dress it up a little. I don’t always do whipped cream but if I want a “treat” or want to feel like I am having something decadent, I add the whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate 🙂

Not really a coffee drinker here but I do sneak sometimes. 🙂 That is so pretty, it makes me not want to touch or drink it. 🙂

I don’t drink it regularly – but I do like coffee “drinks” like cafe mochas, peppermint mochas 🙂 much cheaper to make them at home like this too.
