So since you can’t find me working on a DIY project or thrifting EVERY day, I hope to share some personal posts about our family and adventures. And I had to share these beautiful fall pictures with you.
My husband and I went on a date on Tuesday when he was off and took a day trip to see the fall leaves. (I love dating my husband! We have a date usually every other week sometimes on Tuesday when he is off or on Friday night.) We drove an hour or two to north Georgia and browsed through some shops and then drove to Anna Ruby Falls in Unicoi State Park near Helen, GA.
The fall leaves were BREATHTAKING! Peak weekend for the coloring in the leaves was probably last week, but they still were beautiful!
I had fun playing around with my camera trying different shots and taking lots of pictures! These are just a few of them.
It was chilly especially at the falls, but perfect fall weather!
These pictures were all taken on the 1/2 milk walk up to the falls. Honestly I think I enjoyed the walk along the stream and the fall leaves more than the waterfall.
The water over the falls was very low right now, but they were still pretty!
This is one of my favorite shots of the day!
I am standing on a deck in front of the falls, looking back downstream. Doesn’t it make you want to find a rock to rest on, and just drink in the sounds of water, the smells, and the beautiful scenery? I could have stayed there all day!
We were there later in the afternoon and the sun was pretty coming through the trees.
Our best attempt at a self-portrait! No one else was there at the time and there was no where to set my camera, so we did our best to take our own picture to prove we were actually there! (A tripod is on my Christmas wish list – would have so nice to have for this date! Or even better, maybe I will just ask for a personal photographer!)
Another shot downstream.
Love the winding path next to the stream, and the sun reflecting off the trees.
As we left the falls and were driving out of Unicoi State Park, we saw this lake (which is actually a part of dam) and had to stop to take pictures.
So pretty! Love the mirror image of the trees and fall leaves in the lake!
We had a fun day! It will definitely be a date to remember.
Have you had any fun dates recently? Other than gas and dinner (at Chili’s with a coupon of course 🙂 this date was FREE!
Hope you enjoyed some of my fall foliage pictures. I will be back on Monday with a fun post, so stay tuned!

most tripods come with a case and are rather small when they are folded up. 🙂 and this “hike” was on a paved path 🙂 I was in causal shoes not even tennis shoes. 🙂
I just always wish I could get some neat pictures of us and hard to do without someone else to take them or a tripod! 🙂
