I am participating in a project over at My 3 Boybarians called Project52 (P52) which stands for “1 photo each week for a year.” There is an assigned theme each week and I try to take the best photo I can related to that theme. You can see all my other weekly photos here. Here is my picture for this week’s theme…
Here is my photo this week – representing still life. What is it you ask? It is the perfect finishing touch to mowing the grass … an edged driveway!
Ignore the weeds, the grass that needs to be swept off the driveway… we are concentrating on that perfect line between cement and weeds grass. The line that should always be distinct, clear, and never crossed in my book.
My hubby and I had a date last night to Home Depot (Yes, I love Home Depot as much or more as him…)
And we came home with this…
Our weed eater had stopped working and I was going crazy with overgrown grass over the road, driveway, and around my flower beds. We decided to go the battery operated route and I LOVE it! This is the perfect weed eater for a girl to use too – it is light as a feather and so much quieter.
No cord to pull, no gas smell, no heavy engine – just this cute little battery.
When we got home and put it all together, I told my husband, “Thanks for buying me a new weed eater!” He just smiled…
I say that because I do most of the yard work at our house. I enjoy it, he doesn’t… he works 55-60 hours a week and doesn’t have Saturdays off, I am home most of the time. It just works for us! I would much rather spend time doing something fun with him then have him out doing yard work on his day off too!
Oh the beauty of an edged driveway… I. am. happy.
By the way, they make a chain saw and a blower in the same line of tools – I think I might be adding those to my Christmas list.
Do you edge your driveway? Or are you rolling your eyes at my “perfectionism?”

I had to laugh when I read your blog, my new neighbor and I just had that very talk about getting the right edged look. It makes your yard look finished to me. Love your weed eater I have a electric one but it is heavy, let us know how it works out in the future. Love reading your blog.
too funny! my neighbors laugh at me since I am usually the only one cutting grass and working in the yard. My hubby is usually the one washing the cars. But you are right, edging the grass is the finishing touch! I find that I usually only have to do it every other time (since I cut the grass every 7-10 days) but I do so enjoy it when it is done and looks “pretty!”
My husband and I both love Home Depot and Lowe’s. Going to either of those stores together to browse is like a date for us 🙂 In fact we went to Lowe’s today to pick up my Mother’s day gift from him (and our kitty’s). They got me a Daisy Bench for our rose garden area, yay!!!!!
ooooh… what a great present! Since I just recently got a bench from Home Depot I definitely approve. And yes, we have many “dates” to Home Depot too. 2 in the last month actually 🙂
You are so funny….and precise!! I love it! : )
haha! I know… I can’t help myself 🙂 I am a messy perfectionist, what can I say??
I wish I were more that way. I rely on my husband to do that sort of thing but now that I see this little beauty….this looks a lot more fun!

oh, it is fun! 🙂 I grew up playing outside, romping in the woods and am 1/2 a tomboy with the rest so I really do enjoy outdoor work. But there are others that don’t so leave it up to your hubby if you don’t! 🙂
Finding and buying cheap power tools can be easier on your pocket book as well as you mind.
Exactly 🙂
Love the clean edge and that does seem the perfect ladies’ version of a weed eater!
