The Frugal Homemaker

Your guide to turning your house into a home... one DIY project and yard sale find at a time

Top 10 posts of 2011

December 28, 2011

Can you believe that Christmas is over?  Which means 2011 is almost over, and 2012 is almost here!  Wow, where does the time go??

I thought it would be fun to recap some of the top posts of 2011.  I have only been blogging for a few months (first post was on Sept. 28th) so the list will be short this year.

The most visited post is the introduction and list of all the posts from my 31 days series – 31 days to Decorate your Home on a budget

31 days button

I am so glad I began this blog by writing that series!  It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed it and gained some new ideas myself Smile  You can see the list of all the posts here and read through them if you want.

Some of the top visited posts in that series were:

Decorating with nature

magnolia wreath

Using free printables for art

(lots of great subway prints and other printables in this post – I go back to it to find a new one all the time!)

Don’t Fret the Failures – so true!

Decorate your doors (inside and out) – one of my personal favorites!  I love wreaths!

Shopping Yard Sales.  I posted about how I transformed this yard sale mirror for my Fall mantel here.

and Shop for décor at the Dollar store.  Hurricanes made for $2 (not including filler.)

Other than my 31 days series posts these 3 posts ranked in the top 10:

Twinkling tree in my house

Christmas mantel (and new Christmas sign)

and #10

Free Christmas printables to use as decor

Hope you enjoyed this recap!  I will be back with another fun recap on Friday! Smile

Such great posts for only such a short time blogging here! Love that magnolia wreath too and the free printables… hard to beat that! Now that I’ve taken down my Christmas wreaths I’m ready to make some I can leave up year round. I have two wreath forms in the attic I picked up at GW. Hoping to do one of those yarn ones with the felt flowers maybe?? We’ll see how crafty I can manage to be! 🙂

You are always so good at your “craftiness” – your kids countdown activities and Disney projects were great! Don’t know why you don’t think you are crafty!

I want to do one of those felt flowers wreaths with the yarn – maybe a V-day one? 🙂 Need to narrow it down and get the supplies 🙂
