I love candles!  Pretty candles, great smelling candles, candles on display (not to be actually burned) – I love them all!

Candles can be a easy, cheap way to add some décor (and scent) to your home!  They bring a romantic, “homey” feel to a room.

I have a few good-smelling, in-a-jar candles that I burn when I we have guests or I want to to experience the hominess a good candle brings.  Yankee Candle and Bath & Body Works have some of the best smelling candles! Smile  I have them behind my sink, on my end table, in the bathroom, on the tv stand and I light them all!

I also love burning the candles in my fireplace in the fall and winter – it gives the coziness of a fire in the fireplace without all the mess. Smile

But the candles on the tall candlesticks stay un-burned – just for looks.

(Here’s how I get my candles for cheap.  After Christmas, Wal-mart and craft stores will have “Christmas candles” on deep clearance.  They really are just plain candles, but in Christmas packaging.  I usually get my pillars for 25¢ – 50¢ and buy enough to last me through the year.  You can also pick up taper candles, votives, and more on holiday clearance.)

I love burning candles in my lanterns – so pretty!

Here are some more candle displays:

Love these simple votives in mini pumpkins for fall

Hurricanes can be filled with anything from candy corn, coffee beans, acorns, corn, or berries surrounding a candle.

Surround some candles with a holiday wreath for a pretty display

Display a row of candles for a romantic table setting – I love placing candles on a mirror to reflect the light.

Here is a simple, cheap way to display candles – Epsom salt and candle in a canning jar!  You could even display them outside along your porch or down the sidewalk.

Roll candles in Epsom salt for a unique look

Flameless/battery-operated candles can be pretty too!  They even have candles that operate on a timer so they come on every night at the same time. Smile

You can also dress up your candle holders with a bow, ribbon, burlap…

Add some candles to your home!  And enjoy the romance and beauty they add.

How do you display candles?  Do you a burn a candle every night?

I’m a candle fanatic/addict. I LOVE candles. I burn my Yankee Candles all the time…I used to save them just for company but now I light them almost everyday. If I’m not burning them, I’m burning candles that just look pretty, but don’t really smell. I’ve done many of the things you showed around my home through the years. This is my favorite time for candle season too…”Autumn Wreath” and “Harvest” by Yankee Candle are just amazing!

That’s it, Melissa you convinced me! 🙂 I debated about some Yankee Candles at Kohls a few weeks ago but hated to spend the money on myself. But I have a $10/30 and a 20% coupon so I think I might splurge 🙂 Besides Harvest what is another one of your favorite scents?

i am a fall girl so besides harvest i like pumpkin patch. for winter i like evergreen or pine boughs and i see they have a pine and cinnamon-yummo! for spring i like “fresh cut grass” or bamboo, and lilac. i try to stay away from “foody”scents because they make me hungry and i am always trying to watch what I eat 😉 also Home Goods has yankee at deep discounts too.

also love to use a candle warmer. you don’t get the “ambiance” but you get the smell. good for rooms where you are not wanting to leave a candle burning for safety reasons.
