I am participating in a project over at My 3 Boybarians called Project52 (P52) which stands for “1 photo each week for a year.” There is an assigned theme each week and I try to take the best photo I can related to that theme. Hunger… you know that time between 3-6pm when you don’t think you can wait another minute until dinner. SOO easy to reach for chocolate or something not so good for you.
Well, I have been having one of these little hunger-quenching, pick-me-up Strawberry Spinach Smoothies.
Thanks to Christa from Brown Sugar Toast who posted her recipe (and her little one enjoying SPINACH smoothies), I had to try them! Now I love fresh spinach and fruit, BUT mix them together to create a milkshake type drink that doesn’t stick the to the thighs like a milkshake – oh yeah, I really like that!
(By the way I fed these to my nieces last week too. They did question the green floating pieces – I told them it was special stuff to make the smoothies taste good! :) They gulped them down and asked for more.)
So head over and check out Christa’s recipe and don’t be afraid to customize your own. Mine doesn’t have any peaches, but I do like to add orange juice.
